This event features countries speaking on how they have used spatial planning tools at the national level to support national efforts towards Target 1, with powerful co-benefits for Targets 2-12. Our speakers include Humboldt Institute (Colombia), the Government of Tanzania, South African National Biodiversity Institute, and WCS Mozambique who will showcase national examples of spatial planning, as well as associated tools available to all Parties — Plangea, Marxan Planning Platform, the GBF integrated spatial planning tool on UNBL ('ELSA for All'), and WePlan Forests. We will also share newly released guidances on Target 1 from DEFRA, FAO, and IUCN.
