Description
Presented by Nova Scotia Community College

Atlantic Canada is experiencing the escalating impacts of climate change, which pose increasing challenges to the region. From more frequent and severe storms to extreme heat events and heightened instances of drought, these planetary changes are not only environmental concerns but also drive social and economic risks.

Join us in this session as we summarize the key climate change vulnerabilities facing Atlantic Canada and delve into how communities can enhance their capacity to anticipate and respond to climate change. Panelists will explore the role of social capital and community characteristics that influence adaptive capacity in critical areas such as emergency and storm preparedness, and socio-economic resilience, with a focus on leaving no one behind.
