The heat is on for this practical demo about the need for a holistic approach to fire-resilient design and construction in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) zones. Dagan Koffler, a west coast builder, and Ali Al-Janabi, a ROCKWOOL building science expert, will explore the principles for mitigating risk from fire, including incorporating noncombustible building materials like stone wool insulation into assembly designs. They will address California code requirements - among the strictest in the country – and how those strategies can be applied in other at-risk regions.
