Talent acquisition and retention are ongoing challenges in the insurance industry, as companies continually seek innovative ways to build a strong and diverse workforce. While the search for top talent is robust, opportunities can be missed in untapped talent pools that offer great potential, particularly within the neurodiverse community.
According to the Association of British Insurers, autistic individuals represent a significant but often untapped talent pool in the workforce. In the UK alone, 700,000 people are on the autism spectrum, and yet only 29% of autistic adults are in any kind of employment. The Autism Act and Equality Act encourage reasonable adjustments, but how can an organization reinforce a culture where employees feel empowered to ask for these adjustments?
