Objectives of the workshop series: (1) Share successful experiences in manure management and utilization, (2) educate manure management safety, and (3) showcase potential new technologies in manure management and utilization.
Target audience: Livestock and poultry producers, crop growers, current and potential anaerobic digestion users, manure applicators and haulers, extension educators, etc.
Workshop (1) Presentations:
1. Anaerobic digestion (AD) for manure management in the U.S. (Vanessa McKinney, Program Manager for EPA’s AgSTAR Program)
2. In-house broiler litter windrowing (Casey Ritz, Professor of The University of Georgia)
3. Lagoon solids removal, lessons learned (Teng Lim, Professor of University of Missouri)
4. Safety risks and prevention measures involving manure storage, handling, and transportation (Bill Field, Professor of Purdue University, and Mahmoud Nour, Postdoctoral Researcher of Purdue University)
